WINTER IN COE HILL

WINTER ACCESS
We suggest that you drive an all-wheel drive between the months of December to March and snow tires are a MUST. We are on a main road HWY 62 and the road is maintained by the city. However, it can get icy if the plows have not come around the time you have arrived at the cottage.
DO NOT step on the frozen ice on the lake by the cottage as it can be dangerous and does not always fully freeze in the winter.
ENJOY SNOWY TRAILS
The wintertime is when the beautiful forests turn into groomed routes perfect for snowmobiling. Trail users must have a valid permit, license, and insurance. You can find more information about a permit.
The Hastings Heritage Trail is an all-season, multi-use trail. It is largely used by ATVs, mountain bikes that can handle rough terrain, and horses (although barefoot horseback riding is not recommended). This is mostly a flat trail that is at times full of ruts, loose gravel, and puddles.

COTTAGE RULES
Welcome to our Cottage on Robinson Lake, we are happy to share our piece of paradise with you and hope that you enjoy and love it as much as we do. We want you to be as comfortable as possible and that comes with a few rules and guidelines for your stay at the cottage. It also gives us peace of mind knowing that you are enjoying your stay and safe at our cottage and respecting the environment.
BASIC COTTAGE RULES
Pets are NOT allowed.
Absolutely NO fireworks.
Smoking NOT permitted.
Onsite parties or group events are strictly prohibited.
LUGGAGE
When you are bringing luggage in, please be careful not to damage walls, floors, and furniture, we do not like painting, fixing floors, or replacing furniture. Therefore we have to hire someone to fix any repairs to the damaged area and it's not included in the budget so we ask you to please be careful.
PARKING
We allow 4 cars maximum for parking at the front of the property. Please do not park anywhere else.
DRINKS
Please do not take any beverages other than water into the bedroom area. Accidents could happen and we don't want to have to replace the bedding, and carpets at your cost.
Do not take drinks in glasses outside, only plastic cups. We do not anyone to be injured if incase glass breaks.
GARBAGE
There is wildlife that you may or may not have the pleasure of experiencing while you are at the cottage. There are moose, deer, raccoons, fox, squirrels and other trash-eating creatures. We ask that you don't feed them. They will not come around the house providing you have not left garbage anywhere in the exterior of the building. They don't want to see you as much as you don't want them to visit.

The garbage bin is in the kitchen and the Blue Recycling container is located in the cupboard under the sink. You can either take the trash to the dump located in Limerick (bag tags will be provided) or if it is left behind there will be an additional fee of $50 per bag to dispose of it. We do not have garbage or recycling pickup in the area.
ELECTRONICS
PLEASE DO NOT unplug our TV, VOD box, Internet or any of the components and our heater. There will be a fee if this equipment needs to be put back to regular working order in the event that you do this. A portion of your deposit will be lost to this for time spent reworking the components.
PELLET STOVE
Please do not use the pellet stove in the house during the summer months. It is not necessary or safe in the summer months. We only use it in the winter for heat.
OUTDOOR FIRE PIT
You can check the current bylaws for fire bans for campfires on the Limerick website Firewood can be purchased at the local gas station or grocery stores in Coe Hill or Bancroft.
There is a bucket in the powder washroom closet. Please fill them with water when having a fire in the pit.
There is no smoking in the house or on the grounds. We don't want a ground, house or forest fire.
INDOOR RULES
Remove your shoes before entering the property. We have slippers that can be used in the house during your stay.
Absolutely NO SMOKING or VAPING.
Please do not enter our Equipment room under the stairs on the main floor as all our water filters and utility equipment are stored
The cottage is on a WELL system and therefore water consumption needs to be kept down. Please remember that it is important to use the least amount of water possible; if excessive water use it will over pump and could damage the well system and could be very costly.
We are on Septic, please flush only toilet paper and natural waste.
Load and turn on the dishwasher before leaving, please rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Please do not put pans and pots in the dishwasher, hand wash only.
All garbage accumulated during your stay must leave the property upon departure or there will be an extra charge if left behind.

SAFETY FEATURES
Safety features at this property include a carbon monoxide detector, a fire extinguisher located on the kitchen counter, a smoke detector, a first aid kit, and a deadbolt lock.
The Fuse Panel is located on the wall of the main floor, beside the TV.

HOSPITAL
The QHC (Quinte Health North Hastings Hospital) in Bancroft is about 17 minutes from the cottage.

A live Theater production is usually on schedule for the summer months and the theater is just a short walk from the Dairy Queen!
MASSAGE AT THE COTTAGE
We can provide a contact for a massage therapist in the area if you would like to have a service at the cottage during your stay that you can arrange. Please ask us and will be very happy to give you a contact during a booking time. Please note that this is an extra and not included in our price.
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
It is a must-stop shop The Old Hastings Merchantile and Gallery is only 5 minutes from the cottage located in the historic downtown Ormsby, featuring fine Canadian arts and crafts, vintage toys, antiques, nostalgia, cottage-themed gifts and clothing, country-themed merchandise, and penny candy.
A must-visit to Eagles Nest Lookout in Bancroft Ontario 20 minutes from the cottage. Make sure to climb atop for a breath-taking view of the York River Valley, located above downtown Bancroft, off Hastings Street North, it’s not something you’ll want to miss.
